留学生在进行英国论文写作时，词汇的多样性和丰富性能够体现自身的语言功底，另一方面，透露出一条讯息，还能够了解英语语言的使用习惯。尽管表达的意思是相同的，但是在词汇运用上或者句型上如果有另一番创新，教授读起来则眼前一亮。今天，英国翰思教育就和大家一起探讨下常见的英文论文中的词汇替换运用。
1.表达正面意义和负面意义的词汇替换。如good，great这类基础词汇,我们可以用一些具有积极意义的其他形容词来根据语境进行替换：如 positive，favorable，promising，perfect，remarkable，excellent，outstanding等。反之，表达负面意义不是只有bad，terrible。我们可以使用poor， adverse，ill，unfavorable，dreadful，less impressive等。举个例子：
(1) Over the past ten years, investigations about this field have been remarkable/outstanding.
(2)The past ten years has witnessed a promising/positive/favorable development in this field.
以上两句话表达含义相同，但是句式进行变化后修饰词可以进行变化，比直接使用good更生动。
(3)The lack of the application of this technology leads to a ……
(4)The poor application of this technology leads to a ……
(5)Though the theory about this research is immense, dreadful/poor application in this field hasn’t brought about ……
这一组例子也与上一组例子异曲同工。
2.常见名词替换。研究study可以被conduct，investigation，research等替换。表达“方法”可以用approach， avenue， method， technique， means，或tool等。表达目的的词汇purpose，objective，goal，aim，intention，target，goal，objective，intention可以相互替换。比如在表达论文写作目的时，可以用名词来表达也可以用动词来表达：
(1)The major aim/purpose/goal objective of the conduct is to use …… approach/method/technique to find out the relation between … and ….
(2)The research is aimed to use …… approach/method/technique to find out the relation between … and ….
(3)The report is targeted at…
3.常见动词或动词短语替换。表达“完成”含义的finish可以被complete，accomplish，be done来替换。表达“获得”含义的可以是obtain，get，acquire或者用短语来表达be given，achieve the goal，reach the goal等。表达“使用，采用”含义的有use，utilize，employ，involve，engage等。例如：
By using/utilizing/employing +具体方法/技巧, the author has completed/accomplished/achieved/acquired +结论/结果
4.表达因果词汇或短语替换。表原因系列：because/because of，as，since，thanks to，due to, owing to, on account of, caused by, result from。表结果系列：so，thus，therefore，as a result，as a consequence，或者用副词consequently来表达。我们也可以用含有“引起”含义的动词来表达因果，如cause， lead to， result in，bring about，give rise to等。比如表达A事件导致B结果时可以这样写：
A causes/leads to/brings about/ results in+ B
=B results from A=B is caused by A
=Owing to A, B
=A+ as a consequence, B
6.常用的引用或转述他人观点的词汇或句式。这里可以直接进行动词替换。比如：
Baker argued/suggested/emphasized/stated/indicated that…+观点
=Baker believed/approved/ opposed/ disagreed/supported…+观点
