一般来说，1000字左右essay的结论按照全文字数的15%安排，也就100字左右。如果碰到thesis或者dissertation，结论部分的字数便需要写到四五百字。几百字的结论不能简单的重复idea或者finding，而是需要增加更丰富的内容。下面英国翰思教育教大家如何写出高分留学conclusion。
首先，重述research question。研究问题可以侧重表述研究的背景，比如“given the current research, this study aims to expand the application of subject A”.也可以侧重于对实际问题的解决，比如“this research was conducted to resolve issue A”. 对研究问题的重述按照其难易程度可以写到50字左右。
第二，重述研究方法。同样可以写50字左右。比如要强调使用的研究方法的创新之处。可以说“this research introduced the method (可以适度介绍method是什么)，which have been long overlooked by traditional method”.如果使用了定性研究方法，比如调查问卷之类，则可以说“this research utilized a qualitative approach, which is conducted by interviews/ surveys.”如果使用了两种研究方案相结合的方式，则可以表述为：“a combination of method A and B is used, which allows for a multifaceted examination of issue C”.
第三，给出研究发现。如果论文发现有主次之分，则需要将main finding写在前面，然后将次要发现按照重要性进行排序。比如：this research discovered several findings, the most important of which was finding A. (注意：在写finding时需要使用past tense，因为这是过去发生的)。在写完主要finding之后，还可以用in addition等表述其他的研究发现。研究发现可以分配100字左右。
第四点，写研究中的意外发现（如果有的话）。比如，实证研究开始时未预料到的finding，可以表述为“Unexpectedly, research data revealed a trend which was not anticipated based on initial hypothesis”.也可以对上述finding进行简要的评论，比如，“among the findings, finding M is the most unexpected, because it diverges from the current theory and suggests an unknown field worth attention”.
第五点，写研究价值（建议字数100字以上）。研究价值可以写从哪些方面取得了成就，或者促进了认识上的思考。
可以多使用词组：contribute the development of；provide additional perspective；offers new possibility；highlights the importance of；expand current theory；reshaped the understanding of issue；enhance the understanding；adds depth to the existing knowledge等等。
研究价值可以选择与研究问题最为贴近的方面。比如利用已有理论解决现实层面的问题，那么写“提出了新的观点或者理论发展的可能性”可能比较困难，但是写“促进了相关理论的发现和运用”“bridges the gap between theory and practice”会显得更加合理。此外如果研究侧重于现实，则还可以重点写研究取得的现实意义。比如：“this research makes a practical contribution by recommending/addressing issue A”
第六，写研究局限和建议（字数100字左右）。研究局限性并非结论写作的重点，甚至不是结论写作的必要选项。但之所以有的论文会有limitation的内容，主要还是为了展现学术研究的规范和严谨。通常，局限性写在研究价值之后需要由表示转折的词来连接。比如，despite research values, this study also has limitations, including….或者A key limitation of this research is that…写研究局限的一个自然的后缀是为下一步的研究提供方向建议。因此，limitation之后通常紧跟further research is recommend to…
